Volunteering is the practice of people working ton behalf of others or a particular cause without payment for their time and services.Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity, intended to promote good or improve human quality of life, but people also volunteer for their own skill development, to meet others, to make contacts for possible employment, to have fun, and a variety of other reasons that could be considered self-serving. Come find out abut ways you can include volunteering in your life as well as your children from M&M member Amy Crowell. She will also share information about the national organization she works for, Share Our Strength, whose mission is to end childhood hunger in America. Even if you think you can’t spare a single minute volunteering, come check it out – you never know what you may find!

Accidental injury is the number one cause of death among children ages 14 and under in the US. Also, each year one out of every four children needs medical attention for an accidental injury. Join us for a very informational meeting with a speaker from Safe Kids of Cobb County to help us understand how to keep our children sage in our cars. This is a meeting you won’t want to miss!
October 21
Some parents find it hard to express their love so their children feel and understand it. Our speaker (Debra Sustaita, certified teacher with Cobb County Schools, currently interning as a counselor with Success for All Students) will share three practical concepts that will help your child to feel loved and fine emotional wholeness; necessity of physical touch, positive eye contact, and focused attention. You will be treated to fresh insights that can be put to use immediately by every thoughtful parent.
